What insurance & billing plans do you accept?

We are contracted with most PPO, POS, and EPO plans.  We are also Medicare providers.  Please call us at (714) 693-0460 ()and we can verify your eligibility with your insurance company for you.

How do I get started?

IWS Physical Therapy has made it easy for you to get started. We send a digital intake prior to your appointment to have you fill out before your initial evaluation. 
 
Give us a call at (714) 693-0460, and we would be happy to make an appointment for you. Typically, we are able to see you within 24-48 hours of your call. We also ask that you call your insurance provider to find out what your physical therapy benefits include.

Question 3

What should I expect on my first visit?

When you first arrive at our clinic, you will either turn in or fill out your new patient paperwork. Don’t forget to bring your prescription and any other operative/x-ray/MRI results you have in regards to the injury we will be treating you for.
 
Your physical therapist will then ask you a series of questions regarding your past and present medical conditions. The therapist will then thoroughly evaluate your present condition or injury by assessing things such as range of motion, pain and tenderness, strength, and function. Using a combination of your doctor’s diagnosis, the therapist’s prognosis, and your own, personal goals, your therapist will create and begin to carry out a treatment plan specifically tailored to your needs.
 
The treatment plan typically includes a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.

How long will each appointment take?

Typically each appointment will last about an hour. The initial evaluation is about an hour and a half.

Question 5

What should I wear?

We ask that you wear clothing that allows for assessment and treatment of the specific area you are coming to therapy for. For example, if we will be treating your knee, wear shorts or loose pants so we can roll them up to treat. We also recommend that you were comfortable or athletic shoes.

Question 6

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

Typically, yes. According to California state law, a physician's referral is required for our therapists to treat you and bill your insurance. Once you are referred to physical therapy, the referral will expire 30 days from the date it was given. Make an appointment as soon as you can so that no time is lost in your recovery process. If you do not have a doctors referral, we do offer direct access and self pay rates (exclusions do apply), please give our office a call to discuss your options.

How much will each visit cost me?

Your out-of-pocket expenses will vary based on the guidelines of your personal insurance policy. Physical therapy, when prescribed by a doctor, is often covered at least partially by most insurance plans. According to your insurance plan, you may have a deductible or copayment/co-insurance payment. We do our best to make sure that your payments are as low as possible.

How often do I need to attend physical therapy?

Generally, most doctors prescribe that you attend physical therapy 2 or 3 times a week, based on the severity of your condition/injury. As you attend each visit and are 100% committed to your recovery, the amount of visits each week can often times be reduced as you improve. We do our absolute best to make sure you can be seen at a time that is convenient and fits in with your busy schedule.

Question 9

What happens if my pain/problem returns?

It is not uncommon to have an exacerbation of your symptoms. If this occurs, give us a call! It may be suggested that you alter your daily activities temporarily, come back to see us, or make an appointment with your referring doctor.

Question 10

What if all I want is a massage in therapy? Is that possible?

Massage alone is rarely the most effective avenue for your recovery. Once your therapist has carried out a complete and thorough evaluation, they will determine the most appropriate plan of treatment to best address your condition and maximize your recovery.
 
Stretching, exercising, and other modalities are also very important aspects of the recovery process and will help you to regain strength, stability, and range of motion.

Is there anything I can do at home to help accelerate my recovery?

Most definitely! After your visit, your therapist will typically select a few exercises and stretches that can be done at home to aide in your recovery.

What types of treatment do you perform/offer?

Innovative Wellness Solutions Physical Therapy performs a wide variety of revolutionary and customize treatment plans that best address your specific needs. Some of the treatments include soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, strengthening exercises, taping, electrical stimulation and ice or heat application.  Your treatment will be designed specifically for you by your physical therapist based on your injury or condition.

My doctor referred me to another office; can I go to Innovative Wellness Solutions instead?
